SUBJECT:
A Resolution to approve the purchase of a 2017 Ford Utility Police Interceptor for the Aurora Emergency Management Agency for $30,469.00.
PURPOSE:
The purchase of a new 2017 Ford Interceptor will provide the Emergency Management Agency coordinator with a reliable vehicle that will allow for the ability to carry necessary equipment and have the ability respond and travel in all road and weather conditions.
BACKGROUND:
The Aurora Emergency Management Agency has requested to replace unit 38-502, which is a 2013 Ford Focus. The Ford Focus will be transferred to the Customer Service Department to replace their current 2003 Ford Taurus that is in need of being replaced.

The Ford Interceptor requested by the Emergency Management Agency is standard model with only a few options (Contract 152.pdf). It will have a trailer hitch added once it is received by Equipment Services to allow for towing light towers, generators and other Emergency Management equipment. The new vehicle will allow for enough space for carrying necessary equipment that supports traffic and lighting, ground search and rescue, deployable Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and other needs of Emergency Management.
The majority of the funds for this vehicle came from a grant awarded to Aurora EMA (IEMA 2016 5th Quarter Grant.pdf) in the amount of $25525.16. There is no match requirement for this grant. This grant must be used in support of Emergency Management (IEMA 2016 5th Quarter Grant attachment) A Budget Amendment for this grant has received interim appr...
