SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for the Stonegate/Carillon community. Ward 10, Alderman Johnson.
body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for the installation of three NO OUTLET signs. One would be located in the northern portion of Stonegate at the Mansfield Drive entrance off E. Indian Trail. The other two would be in the portion of Stonegate south of E. Indian Trail: first at the intersection of Barkston Lane and Heathrow Lane; and the second at the intersection of Barkston Lane and Barkston Court.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted an E-mail to Alderman Johnson requesting NO OUTLET signs be installed at three locations in Stonegate, in an effort to reduce lost drivers roaming in their subdivision.
DISCUSSION:
Staff has been in this neighborhood on numerous occasions and has not observed an issue with lost drivers navigating the subdivision. Traffic volumes from this area indicate very low volumes for the entire subdivision.
While staff question the need, staff will not object to the installation of one 'No Outlet sign at the entrance at Mansfield and Indian Trail.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be required to install signage as discussed in recommendation.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff does not object to the installation of one 'No Outlet' sign at the intersection of Mansfield and Indian Trail.
