PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Gates Street in the 700 block to determine whether to increase parking restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
Stephanie Brennan, Assistant Principal of Gates Elementary School, submitted an E-mail (9/7/16) requesting changing the parking restrictions on the eastern side from the present 7am to 10am on school days to 7am to 3pm.
DISCUSSION:
NO PARKNG THIS SIDE is only in effect from the present 7am to 10am on school days. The roadway is the city standard of 29.5-ft in width, and the speed limit is 25 mph. Both sides of the roadway have curb-gutter and sidewalk.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends parking restrictions from 7:00AM-4:00PM on School Days for the east side of the 700 block of Gates Street.
