Requesting approval for the City of Aurora's annual Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 26th at Noon.

PURPOSE:
This patriotic holiday commemorates the men and women who have died in Military service for their country.
BACKGROUND:
The parade is coordinated through the Special Events division. The pre-parade program will take place at the reviewing stand located on Downer Place at 11:15 am with the parade stepping off at Noon from Benton and River.
DISCUSSION:
Expenditures for this event have been appropriated in account number 101-1341-450.53-21.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Assistance from the following City departments is necessary for this event: Police, Streets, MVPS, Electrical, Downtown Maintenance and Water & Sewer. This is to facilitate street closings, site setup and tear down and provide for public safety.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be approved and forwarded to the Government Operations Committee.
