A Resolution Authorizing Payment to Northwestern Medicine up to the Amount of $200,000 Annually for Providing Occupational Health Services.
PURPOSE:
To obtain approval for payment up to the amount of $200,000 annually to Northwestern Medicine for occupational health services.
BACKGROUND:
For over fifteen years, Provena Mercy served as the City's occupational health services provider. Services included pre-employment physicals, contractual annual exams, statutory drug testing, worker compensation primary and follow-up treatment, and other required medical services. In 2016, Provena discontinued providing occupational health services and instead sold the business to Physicians Immediate Care (PIC). The City was forced to utilize another provider. After careful consideration and assessment of several occupational health services facilities, the city determined that Northwestern Medicine new state of the art facility is in the best central geographical location of Aurora to service the city's needs as well as offering urgent care and extended after hours services.
DISCUSSION:
The city has thus far paid Northwestern Medicine $24,866.00 for their services. Cost for medical services in 2017 was $145,017.07. The city intends to continue to utilize Northwestern Medicine for occupational health services and anticipates the cost for services not to exceed $200,000 for the year. Attached is the rate sheet comparing the increase in services from 2017 to 2018. These changes reflect the first price change for Northwestern Medicine occupational services since 2013.

That the City Council approve the resolution to pay Northwestern Medicine up to the amount of $200,000 annually for occupational health services.
