PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for the business on the E. Galena Blvd. and Spencer Street intersection on the northwest corner to reserve parking space for the corner business at 590 E. Galena Blvd.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 134472 requested reserved parking space for the corner business at 590 E. Galena Blvd.
DISCUSSION:
N. Spenser Street is a Residential roadway, while E. Galena Blvd. is a major collector with two-way traffic. N. Spencer Street has Stop signs approaching E. Galena Blvd, and a double yellow center line leading up to E. Galena Blvd. There are no existing parking restrictions on N. Spencer Street, except for NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER which also has Yellow Curb markings. E. Galena Blvd. has NO PARKING ANY TIME on the north side, but pavement-marked parking spaces on the south side. Unfortunately, there is no available parking adjacent to the corner building: the strip of non-Yellow Curb to the east is not large enough to be reserved parking because it is too close to a drive approach. The only possible parking space available is in front of residential houses on N. Spencer Street, or on the south side of E. Galena Blvd.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action so no impact.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
