PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Fenton Street and Sumner Avenue, to determine if a change in traffic control for the intersection is necessary.
BACKGROUND:
Alderman Garza submitted request, PS # 3954977, to replace yield signs with stop signs for the Sumner Avenue approaches to Fenton Street.
DISCUSSION:
Fenton Street and Sumner Avenue are classified as a residential roadways, 29 feet in width, with a 25 mph speed limit. Existing intersection traffic control are yield signs for the Sumner Avenue approaches to Fenton Street. Pedestrian crosswalks exist on all four legs of the intersection. There is a street light on the southeast corner of the intersection.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends replacing the existing yield signs with stop signs for the Sumner Avenue approaches to Fenton Street.
