SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for Vaughn Court. Ward 9, Alderman Bugg.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Vaughn Court to determine if a parking restriction is needed.
BACKGROUND:
Resident complaint received regarding vehicles parking along the inner and outer circle near 1370 Vaughn Court, making it impossible for Emergency vehicles to enter the Court. Resident is requesting No Parking signage.
DISCUSSION:
Vaughn Court is classified as a residential roadway, 24 feet in width, with a 25 mph speed limit. There is an oval shaped median island which vehicles park adjacent to. Parked vehicles, on both sides of Vaughn Court, would reduce the traveled way to approximately 12 feet. Vaughn Court traffic flow is assumed to be one-way, with the north-most access to Eola Road being an exit only, with stop sign control and the south-most access to Eola Road being an enter only.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing NO PARKING signage adjacent to the median island.
