The Aurora Girl Scouts are requesting permission to stage the Girl Scout Kick-Off and Ice Cream Social on Water Street Mall on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
A fun day for Aurora Girls Scouts from both the east and west side to come together and potentially attract new girls along with their families to scouting.
BACKGROUND:
This event has been previously held elsewhere. The coordinators were attracted to the newly remodeled WSM and the idea of bringing the east and west sides together for the first time at this particular event.
DISCUSSION:
There are no costs associated with this event. Organizers are expecting approximately 150 people to attend.
Stations will include: outdoor skills, STEM crafts, registration and an ice cream snack.
The WSM Addendum has been received and a COI has been requested.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
There are no City services necessary for this event.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
