PURPOSE:
Award a contract for the above referenced project.
BACKGROUND:
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is preparing to build an overpass on Ogden Avenue over the railroad tracks just west of Frontenac Street. IDOT has requested the relocation of the City of Aurora's water main within their right of way.
DISCUSSION:
The overpass will be a significant benefit to the reduction in traffic congestion attributed to the increased train traffic.
Three bids were received, and publicly opened and read on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. The low bid was submitted by R. A. Ubert Construction, Inc. in the amount of $169,950.00. The 2013 budget contains funding for this project in IC066 account no. 510-4470-511.73-09 (Water and Sewer Fund).
IMPACT STATEMENT:
ยท This project will have no significant impact on City Departments or to the public.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
We respectfully request that this item be forwarded to the BGI Committee for their review and recommendation for approval.
