PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Sixth Avenue, west of Smith Blvd, to determine the need for specific parking restrictions, on the south side of the street.
BACKGROUND:
Residents from the private drive, west of Sixth Avenue, expressed concern with parking on the south side of Sixth Avenue, when East High School is in session.
DISCUSSION:
Sixth Avenue, west of Smith Blvd, is a residential roadway without curb, gutter, or sidewalk. The pavement is 25-ft in width. Parking on the northern side is prohibited. Parking is allowed on Sixth Avenue, east of Smith Blvd, along the south side of the street, when school is in session.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources for installing No Parking signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing a "No Parking Here To Corner" sign, on the south side of Sixth Avenue, thirty feet west of the existing eastbound stop sign to Smith Boulevard.
