SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for Baldwin Court. Ward 9, Alderman Bugg.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Baldwin Court to determine if a parking restriction is needed.
BACKGROUND:
Resident complaint received regarding vehicles parking adjacent to the cul-de-sac circle median, near 2459 Baldwin Court, making it difficult for trash pick-up and emergency vehicle access. Resident is requesting No Parking signage.
DISCUSSION:
Baldwin Court is classified as a residential roadway, 25 feet in width, with a 25 mph speed limit. Vehicles parking adjacent to east half of the cul-de-sac median circle do not always park efficiently and could reduce the traveled way to less than 18 feet. The west half of the median circle has room to accommodate a parked vehicle, however, it is difficult to sign half a median circle for a parking restriction.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing NO PARKING signage for the cul-de-sac median circle.
