A Resolution appointing Cinthia Salgado, Samuel Nunez, Iliana Rivera and Carmen Julia Rodriguez Torres and reappointing Adrienne Mercad Holloway and Mariana Ponce Hill to the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board (AHHAB) is a non-partisan, community-based, seventeen (17) member advisory board that supports and participates in activities that promote a deeper understanding of the Hispanic community. In addition to supporting community-wide events in Aurora, the AHHAB also hosts two major annual events, El Dia de los Ninos and a Community Breakfast. In 2015, the board is also hosting Fiestas Patrias at RiverEdge Park. The proposed appointees will fulfill four (4) of the six (6) vacancies on the board, taking the total membership to fifteen (15), providing much needed support for upcoming events.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the appointments of Cinthia Salgado, Samuel Nunez, Iliana Rivera and Carmen Julia Rodriguez Torres and the reappointments of Adrienne Mercad Holloway and Mariana Ponce Hill to the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.
