Wheatlands Elementary School PTO is requesting permission to stage the Running of the Wolves 5K on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 8:00 to 10:00 am.

PURPOSE:
This is a fundraiser for Wheatlands Elementary School.
BACKGROUND:
Wheatlands Elementary PTO has organized this event for the past 8 years in the same area surrounding the school. Last year 250 people participated.
DISCUSSION:
The school is expecting approximately 350 people this year along with 40 staff/volunteers. Wheatlands is responsible for all costs associated with this event and for securing any additional permits for parts of the route not under City of Aurora jurisdiction.
A map and COI are included in the attachments.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services will be needed from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Division.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
