PURPOSE:
The Homestead Elementary School PTA is asking for permission to hold its annual Husky Hustle 5K and 1Mile Family Fun Run to promote wellness and community.
BACKGROUND:
The Homestead Elementary School PTA has held the annual Husky Hustle 5K and 1Mile Family Fun Run for the past 6 years. In 2015, 300 people participated.
DISCUSSION:
The Homestead Elementary School PTA is expecting 350 people to participate and 20 staff/volunteers to help with this year's proposed annual event. The organizers will have volunteer traffic coordinators in place to assist with the event. Parts of the route involve Fox Valley Park District property and the organizers will need permission from the Park District too. The Homestead Elementary School PTA is responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Services will be needed from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Control Division and from the Street Maintenance Division for delivery of barricades.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for approval.
