A Parking Study for 429 S. Spencer Street. Ward 3, Alderman Mesiacos.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for 429 S. Spencer Street to determine whether the NO PARKING _ TOW ZONE restrictions are warranted at this time.
BACKGROUND:
A request was received from United Neighbors November Meeting to determine if the No Parking restrictions in front of 429 S. Spencer Street could be removed. Although they may have been justified at one time, no one is certain whether they are justified now. The signs were installed in April 2008.
DISCUSSION:
S. Spencer Street is a regular neighborhood residential street with parking restricted to the west side of the street, leaving street parking in short supply.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operation would be responsible for removing the sign and sign post, as well as removing the yellow curb no longer needed in front of 429 S. Spencer Street.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends removing the No Parking signage and Yellow Curb (leaving only 5' of yellow curb by the drive approaches).
