SUBJECT:
An Ordinance amending Chapter 2, Division 9. "Sustainable Aurora", (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this proposed amendment is to reduce the number of members from twelve (12) to seven (7). This change will assist the board in maintaining a quorum on a consistent basis, allowing them to conduct business.

BACKGROUND:
Sustainable Aurora (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board) was implemented in 2014 as part of the city's Sustainability Plan. Initially, the board was slated to have twelve (12) members. Since the first round of appointments in 2014, Sustainable Aurora has not had a full roster of members, which has impeded their ability to conduct business.

The proposed change from twelve (12) to seven (7) members will move this board into alignment with the Bicycle, Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Board.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
This change, is accepted will have a positive impact on the ability of Sustainable Aurora to conduct business.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully requested that this proposed amendment be forwarded to the Tuesday, September 18th Committee of the Whole Meeting.
