SUBJECT:
A Resolution Authorizing the Appointment of Alisia Lewis as the Director of Human Resources.

PURPOSE:
To obtain authorization to appoint Alisia Lewis as the Director of Human Resources.

BACKGROUND:
Alisia Lewis has over 25 years of private and public sector experience in human resources, employee benefits and labor relations. Hired on September 16, 1996, she has worked in a number of key positions within the city, currently serving as Director of Human Resources since August 29, 2010. She also has five years of experience as an Assistant Chief of Staff in the Mayor's Office. Alisia has a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in Psychology.

DISCUSSION:
This proposed appointment is part of the recommended City reorganization of departments and divisions in order to improve efficiencies within the organization and improve customer service for the public. As a result and in accordance with the City of Aurora Code of Ordinances, the Director of Human Resources position as a department head is appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council.
