SUBJECT:title

A Parking Study for Port Royal Circle in the 200 block.  Ward 10, Alderman Lofchie.

body

PURPOSE:

A Parking Study for 220 to 298 Port Royal Circle to determine the warrants for installing No Parking signage.

BACKGROUND:

A resident submitted PS # 2975963 expressing concern for vehicles parked too close to the northern intersection of Port Royal Circle and Frontenac Street.  .

DISCUSSION:

Port Royal Circle is classified as a residential roadway, measuring the standard 29.5-ft in width.  Parking on either side of the roadway is scarce with most curb being filled with entrances to double-wide driveways about 20-ft wide each.  The south-west corner of the intersection has suitable curb, but parking is prohibited by the presence of a fire hydrant.  Parking on the south side is also restricted by yellow curb.

IMPACT STATEMENT:

APD resources for Parking Enforcement.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Staff recommends random selective APD parking enforcement.
