PURPOSE:
Nancy Young Elementary School PTA is requesting permission to hold its annual Dolphin Dash 5K and 1 Mile Run Walk to raise funds for educational programs at the school.
BACKGROUND:
Nancy Young Elementary School PTA has held this annual event for 11 previous years in the neighborhood surrounding the school. The organizers list that 350 people participated in the event this year.
DISCUSSION:
Nancy Young Elementary School PTA is expecting 350 people to participate in 2018 and 50 staff/volunteers to help with the event. Nancy Young Elementary School is responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services will be needed by the Aurora Police Department to provide at least 4 Officers and the Street Maintenance Division to provide barricades and cardboard trash bins.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for review/approval.
