SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for the Blue Spruce Street and Handley/Evergreen intersection.  Ward 10,  Alderman Johnson
body
PURPOSE:
To investigate the need for STOP signage at the Blue Spruce Street and Handley/Evergreen intersection.

BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID ACR 101498 requesting STOP signage at the Blue Spruce Street and Handley/Evergreen intersection.

DISCUSSION:
The Blue Spruce Street and Handley/Evergreen western intersection is presently uncontrolled, having neither STOP nor YIELD signage.  The eastern intersection of Blue Spruce Street and Handley/Evergreen has two-way STOP signage, with STOP signs on the roadways approaching Blue Spruce Street (Handley Lane and Evergreen Lane). Two-way STOP signs identical to the eastern intersection, matching the western intersection, would appear to be a reasonable request.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will install the two-way STOP signs.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends the installation of two-way STOP signage at the western intersection of Blue Spruce Street and Handley/Evergreen Lanes.
