Homestead Elementary School PTA Husky Hustle 5K Run/Walk, Saturday April 26, 2014 from 8:00am to 10:30am.

PURPOSE:
The event organizers have listed the purpose as to promote community and health. In past years the event was used as a fundraiser for the PTA and was utilized for underfunded programs at the school.
BACKGROUND:
This is the 5th year that the event is being proposed to be held. There were over 250 participants in 2013 and the event organizers are expecting approximately 300 participants this year. They plan on utilizing 30 staff/volunteers this year.
DISCUSSION:
The organizers are responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The run/walk takes place on the streets, sidewalks, and bike paths throughout the Homestead neighborhood. Aurora Police Department Traffic Division services will be needed for crossing Hafenricter at Barrington Road, Middlebury Drive, and near Union Mill Drive.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for approval.
