Resolution authorizing the 2023 Ward Neighborhood Clean-Ups and Shred Events in all Wards in the City of Aurora.
PURPOSE:
To obtain City Council approval for the 2023 Ward Neighborhood Clean-Ups and Shred Events.
BACKGROUND:
Annually, the City of Aurora Aldermen and Alderwomen along with their ward committees decide when neighborhood clean-ups and shred events will be held. Decisions are based on available funds for the current year.
DISCUSSION:
The 2023 Neighborhood Clean-Ups and Shred Events are proposed for Wards 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10. Groot and Accurate Document Destruction will be contacted to provide disposal services. The cost is determined by the amount of debris hauled away.
The following disposal/garbage accounts will be used (311), (312), (313), (314), (315), (316), (317), (318), (319) and (320)-1827-424-36-10.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approve and forward the recommendation to the Committee of the Whole for further review and consideration.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
