Aurora Downtown is requesting permission to stage Octo Street Fest on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2:00 to 10:00 pm on Pinney Street.

PURPOSE:

The event is intended to bring people downtown and raise awareness of Restaurant Row.

 

BACKGROUND:

This is the inaugural year for this event with a fall theme.

 

DISCUSSION:

The event will run from 2:00 to 10:00 pm with street closure on Pinney from River Street to the dead-end. In the event of inclement weather the patrons would move to the various restaurants along Pinney. 

 

Insurance coverage is being provided by the City.

 

Gillerson's Grubbery is working directly with the City Clerk's Office on the serving of alcohol. 

 

A Music Festival Permit has been applied for with the Clerk's Office.  

 

IMPACT STATEMENT:

City Services Requested:

Street Department-barricades at River and Pinney to be placed on Friday, October 14th.

Electrical-access to any power available on Pinney

Organizers are responsible for hiring APD and working with the businesses along the event site. 

 

RECOMMENDATIONS:

I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
