TO: Mayor John Laesch
FROM: Jason Bauer, Director of Public Works
DATE: February 3, 2026
SUBJECT:
PURPOSE:
A resolution authorizing the Director of Purchasing to execute a contract with Interiors for Business in the amount of $307,000 for furnishings at RiverEdge Park.
BACKGROUND:
The purchase of furnishings will allow the new buildings to function as intended.
DISCUSSION:
The city is nearing completion of the expansion project at RiverEdge Park that has been underway for the past two years. Prior to utilizing the new facilities, various furniture purchases are necessary.
Interiors for Business has successfully provided similar services on a number of projects in recent years. Further, they have successfully obtained various cooperative purchasing contracts, which satisfies the requirements of the applicable procurement sections of the city code, therefore a bid process was not required. Those cooperative contracts are as follows: Sourcewell contracts 091423-STI and 091423-OFS; Omnia contracts 07-73, R240104, 07-92, 07-128 and R240107 and TIPS contract 210305. The resolution amount of $307,000 includes the proposal from Interiors for Business in the amount of $279,098.41 which is attached as Exhibit A and a contingency amount of approximately 10%. Funds are budgeted for this expenditure in association with CIP A062, in account 358-4440-351.73-43.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Failure to procure the furniture will negatively impact the park and various buildings may not function as intended.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed resolution be adopted.
