SUBJECT:
A resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Engineering Enterprises, Inc., 52 Wheeler Road, Sugar Grove, IL. 60554 to provide construction engineering services for the 2014 Storm Sewer Extension Project.
PURPOSE:
To enter into an agreement with Engineering Enterprises for the above referenced project
BACKGROUND:
The extension of storm sewers on Fourth Street, Marion Avenue, and Maple Avenue is part of the City's overall plan to de-combine the storm and sanitary sewers within the City
DISCUSSION:
On June 24, 2014, the City awarded a contract (R14-167) to Brandt Builders for the installation of storm sewers on Fourth Street, Marion Avenue, and Maple Avenue. Engineering Enterprises will be providing construction engineering services and ensure the completion of the work is in compliance with the construction plans and specifications. Engineering Enterprises, Inc. has proposed to provide full time construction engineering services in an amount not to exceed $42,906.96. The 2014 budget provides funding for this work in B037 account #280-1852-512.81-23 (Stormwater Management Fee Fund).
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This work will help reduce or eliminate future sewer backups within residential basements in this area
RECOMMENDATIONS:
We respectfully request this item be forwarded to the BGI Committee for their review and recommendation for approval."
