Requesting approval to use Water Street Mall on October 20, 2014 by Aurora Cultural Creatives to stage the first annual Water Street Music Show.

PURPOSE:
This event will focus on local musicians and artists and all art will have a music related theme. The idea here is to showcase these musicians and artists in relaxed intimate outdoor setting in the downtown.
BACKGROUND:
Aurora Cultural Creatives is the sponsoring organization and has been doing a growing number of art and music related events on Water Street Mall for the last few years.
DISCUSSION:
Being a first time event expected attendance is 150-200 people and has approximately 10 volunteers for set up and clean up. There is no admission charge and no alcohol will be served. Event times are from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Setup will begin around 9:30 and breakdown is expected to be complete by 8:30 pm.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
There are no City funds or services related to the requested.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be approved and forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for consideration.
