SUBJECT:
A resolution authorizing the Director of Purchasing to enter into an agreement with GenServe LLC for preventative maintenance of the City of Aurora's lift station and standby emergency generators.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this resolution is to enter a contract with GenServe LLC to perform preventative maintenance on eight standby emergency generators for the City's Water and Sewer Maintenance Division.
BACKGROUND:
The Water and Sewer Maintenance Division operates and maintains four sanitary sewage lift stations and three stormwater pumping stations. To ensure continuous operation of the lift stations during power outages, emergency generators are located at each of the sanitary and storm pumping stations along with a generator located at 649 S. River St
DISCUSSION:
On December 18, 2025 purchasing received three qualified bids for the subject work. GenServe LLC was the lowest bidder for a total first year cost of $21,750. The contract is for one year with the option and upon mutual consent to extend the contract for two additional one-year extensions.
$63,000 is contained in the 2026 budget to provide funding for this work in account 510-4063-511.36-67 within the Water and Sewer Fund.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This work is needed to protect the health and safety of the City's citizens and to comply with Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Requirements.
