A Parking Study for Edinburgh Lane in the 2000 block. Ward 7, Alderman Hart-Burns.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Edinburgh Lane in the 2000 block to determine the need for Parking Restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 118818 expressing concern of traffic flow on Edinburgh Lane, particularly about the 90-degree curve by 2071 Edinburgh Lane.
DISCUSSION:
The Edinburgh Lane roadway is the normal 29.5-ft width. On the rare 90-degree curve such as the one at 2071 Edinburgh Lane, parking on both sides of the roadway may cause congestion for traffic attempting the curve. Restricting parking on the inside of the curve would ease traffic flow and improve visibility for the curve.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing the Parking Restriction signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends NO PARKING BETWEEN SIGNS installed on the inside curve approximately 30-feet from each approach in the vicinity 2017 Edinburgh Lane.
