A Resolution reappointing Paul Chabez Jr. to Aurora's Fire Code Board of Appeals.

BACKGROUND:
The Fire Code Board of Appeals is a five (5) member board tasked with hearing applications for modifications of the requirements of the International Fire Code pursuant to the provisions of Section 108 of the International Fire Code. The board is authorized to hear evidence from appellants and the fire code official pertaining to the application and intent of this code for the purpose of issuing orders pursuant to these provisions.

Membership must include individuals with professional experience in the following areas: registered design professional, qualified engineer, technologist or technician, industrial or chemical engineer, certified hygenist or certified safety professional, a contractor and a representative of business or industry not represented by a member of one of the other categories (Paul Chabez Jr.).

Members of the Fire Code Board of Appeals also serve on the Permanent Building and Fire Code Committee. The Permanent Building and Fire Code Committee's membership is comprised of members of both the Building and Fire Boards of Appeal.

The board has an expired term.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended the reappointment of Paul Chabez Jr. be approved.
