L.I.F.T. Aurora is requesting approval to stage On the Wall Urban Arts Festival on Water Street Mall, Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
Established in 2014, On the Wall Urban Arts Festival is a cultural event that showcases the positive aspects of Hip-Hop culture by highlighting the music's legacy as an agent of artistic progression, community building, and social change.
BACKGROUND:
L.I.F.T. Aurora is a local not for profit that provides a place for all members of the community to Live, Improve, Flourish and Thrive. This is the fourth year for this event which is expected to draw approximately 200 to 250 people. There is no history of an issues associated with this event.
DISCUSSION:
Activities will include live mural art, interactive activities for children and adults, a breakdancing competition and a DJ. A Certificate of Insurance has been provided
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Set up for the event will begin at 8:00 am and breakdown will be complete by approximately 8:00 pm. There are no City services or costs associated with this event.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
