SUBJECT:
Resolution authorizing the 2020 Ward Neighborhood Cleanup Program for Ward 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 and Shred events in Wards 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 in the City of Aurora to be recommended to the Rules, Administration and Procedures Committee at the February 18, 2020 meeting.

PURPOSE:
To obtain City Council approval for the 2020 Ward Neighborhood Cleanups and Shred Events.

BACKGROUND:
Annually, Ward Aldermen and their ward committees decide if and when neighborhood cleanups and/or shred events will be held. Decisions are also based on available funds for the current year.

DISCUSSION:
The neighborhood cleanup days proposed in 2020 are in Wards 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. Wards 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 will be holding shred events. Groot and Accurate Document Destruction will be contacted to provide disposal services. The costs is determined by the amount of debris hauled away.

The following garbage accounts will be used (311), (312), (313), (314), (315), (316), (317), (318), (319), and (320)-1827-424.36-10.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approve and forward the recommendation to the Committee of the Whole for further review and consideration.
