Homestead Elementary School PTA is requesting permission to stage the Husky Hustle 5K and 1 mile Fun Run on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 8:30 am to 10:15 am.

PURPOSE:
To promote wellness and community.
BACKGROUND:
The Husky Hustle has been held for the past 9 years in the neighborhood surrounding Homestead Elementary School. Last year 275 people participated in the event.
DISCUSSION:
The Homestead Elementary School PTA is expecting 300 people to participate this year and 30 staff/volunteers to assist. The event will be canceled if there is lightening in the area on the day/time of the event. Homestead PTA is responsible for all costs associated with this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services are requested from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Control Division and the Street Department for barricades as per the attached route.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
