A Traffic Study for the Randall Road/Illinois Avenue intersection for Speeds. Wards 4, 5, & 6, Aldermen Donnell, Peters, and Saville
body
PURPOSE:
To determine the need for Traffic Calming at the intersection of Randall Road/Illinois.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 97783 expressing concern over "many inconsiderate drivers who speed constantly." Caller added he/she is "becoming deaf and blind and has almost been hit by these drivers."
DISCUSSION:
The Traffic Signal at the intersection of Randall Road/Illinois Avenue is designed to move vehicles and pedestrians safely and efficiently. There are Pedestrian Crosswalks with Pedestrian Push-Buttons on all four corners. An inspection showed all Pedestrian Buttons and fixtures to be in proper working order. Pedestrian Crosswalks are marked on the pavement in all four crossing directions with two white 6-in. thermoplastic lines.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends no action at this time.
