A Parking Study for Fifth Street in the 300 block. Ward 3, Alderman Mesiacos.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Fifth Street in the 300 block to determine the need to relocate a "No Parking Here To Corner" sign, in front of 331 Fifth Street, northward toward the Kingsbury Avenue corner.
BACKGROUND:
A Request was made asking what purpose the "No Parking Here To Corner" sign in front of 331 5th Street was serving. Indeed, such signs are usually 30 feet from the corner, but this one is located approximately 150 feet from the Kingsbury Avenue corner.
DISCUSSION:
Presently, a "No Parking" sign is mounted on a post slightly approximately 30 feet from the Kingsbury corner.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources for sign relocation/sign and post removal work.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends relocating the "No Parking Here to Corner" sign, in front of 331 5th Street, to the existing sign post approximately 30 feet from Kingsbury Avenue, to replace the existing "No Parking" sign, for southbound 5th Street. Also, removal of the sign post in front of 331 Fifth Street.
