Requesting approval to stage Alley Art Festival on the Water Street Mall on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from Noon to 5:00 PM.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of Alley Art Festival is to provide a free family friendly art event while promoting local artists.
BACKGROUND:
Alley Art Festival is a grassroots community event utilizing local artisans and crafters and providing free activities for all ages. The event is in its 5th year. The sponsoring organization this year is Aurora Downtown.
DISCUSSION:
Alley Art Festival received Neighborhood Festival Funding again in 2014 to help offset the cost of staging the event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City Services requested are:
Electrical-provide access to the electrical box located at the southeast corner of City Hall
Property Standards-cardboard trash bins with liners (6)
Central Services-unlock the chains at both ends of WSM for access
Community Services-order 2 portable toilets (covered under NFF)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee.
