A Parking Study for Charles Lane. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Charles Lane to determine need for parking restriction signage.
BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted PS # 3035109 requesting No Parking signage on east side of Charles Lane from 1993 to 2010. Complaint of not being able to see out of driveway.
DISCUSSION:
The roadway is classified as residential, with a 25 mph speed limit. The roadway does not have curb, gutter, or sidewalks on either side. There is a drainage ditch on the east side of Chares Lane from 1941 to 1995.
No Parking This Side signage would help keep parking vehicles away from entering ditch, and improve visibility for vehicles entering and leaving drive approaches on the east side.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installation and maintenance of signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing No Parking This Side signage on the east side from 1995 to 2010 Charles Lane.
