SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for the Fenton Street and N. Loucks Street intersection. Ward 2, Alderman Garza.
body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for the Fenton Street and N. Loucks Street intersection to determine the need for additional signage.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2562678 requesting the two-way Stop signage be changed to all-way Stop signage because of speeding in area.
DISCUSSION:
Based on the traffic study, the traffic volumes do not warrant the installation of an all-way stop. Traffic volumes on the Fenton Street approach are about 530 veh/day. The peak hour never exceeded a measured 100 veh/hr. The Manual of Uniform Traffic Control recommends several times the shown peak hour volume before consideration of an all-way stop.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends maintaining existing traffic control (2-way stop) and APD speed enforcement.
