PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study to determine traffic calming eligibility.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 117288 expressing concern for vehicle speeds on Howell Place in the 1100 block.
DISCUSSION:
Howell Place has no curb and gutter. A Traffic Study revealed an ADT of about 3,800 vpd. The 85th percentile speed was 38 MPH. The Mean and Median Speeds in both directions are 29 mph, with a posted Speed Limit of 25 mph.
Based on the traffic counts this area meets the minimum qualifications for traffic calming.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends acceptance of Traffic Study.
