Aurora Downtown is requesting permission to stage Octo Street Fest on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Pinney Street.

PURPOSE:
The event is intended to bring people downtown and raise awareness of Restaurant Row. 
 
BACKGROUND:
This is the second year for this event with a fall theme.  Last year's event was rained out..
 
DISCUSSION:
The event will run from 2:00 to 7:00 pm with street closure on Pinney from River Street to the dead-end. In the event of inclement weather the patrons would move to the various restaurants along Pinney.  
 
Insurance coverage is being provided by the City. 
Activities will include a DJ and food served by businesses along Restaurant Row.  
Gillerson's Grubbery is working directly with the City Clerk's Office on the serving of alcohol.   
 
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City Services Requested:
Street Department-barricades at River and Pinney to be placed on Friday, October 13th.
Electrical-access to any power available on Pinney
Organizers are responsible for hiring APD and working with the businesses along the event site.  
 
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
