SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for the Trask Street and Midlane Drive intersection. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for the Trask Street and Midlane Drive intersection to determine warrants for STOP signage.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 118566 concerned about the possibility of STOP signage at the Trask Street and Midlane Drive intersection.
DISCUSSION:
The above intersection is uncontrolled, with no Yield or Stop signage. Trask Street has no curb and gutter, while Midlane Drive does. Both are the standard city width of about 29.5-ft. Midlane Drive is only one block long, and not heavily travelled. Trask is also a Residential roadway. A Stop sign on Midlane Drive approaching Trask Street may help alert drivers on Midlane Drive that Trask Street traffic should be looked for.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing Stop signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing a one-way STOP sign on Midlane Drive approaching Trask Street.
