body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for installation of an on-street Handicap Parking Space at 619 Hammond Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 1878110 requesting an on-street Handicap Parking Space at 619 Hammond Avenue.
DISCUSSION:
Hammond Avenue has unrestricted parking on either side. The roadway is a neighborhood residential, with a 25mph speed limit. Width is the standard 29.5-ft. The entrance at the front of the building has four steps, as seen in the photo. Aside from room for two parking spaces on the front curb, the majority of parking spaces are located in the paved backyard of the duplex. There is no walkway from the sidewalk to the front curb.
Staff will work with AHA to have a Handicap parking stall installed onsite.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No Impact
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial of on street parking but will work with AHA to provide onsite handicap stall.
