Requesting approval for the Aurora Veterans Advisory Council to hold a Classic Car Show in Lot W, 309 N. River Street on Saturday, May 21 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
This event is a fundraiser for the Aurora Veterans Advisory Council with all proceeds going to serve Veterans in Aurora and funding the AVAC Scholarship Fund.
BACKGROUND:
This is a second year event for this event. Their goal is to create awareness of the needs of local Veterans.
DISCUSSION:
AVAC will work in conjunction with the City to promote the event, which coincides with the first ever "Vets Week in Aurora". The group will coordinate and staff the event with minimal City assistance. There will be a DJ, live band and Color Guard. A Music Festival Permit has also been applied for and the Certificate of Insurance is being provided by the City of Aurora.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
There are no direct City costs associated with this event.
City services requested are:
Barricades to block off Lot W, delivered by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 20th.
Additional trash bins to be coordinated through Special Events.
Access to the electrical panel at the north end of Lot W.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
