SUBJECT:
To correct Ordinance O25-028 enacted on April 22, 2025 (Legistar item 25-0319), An Ordinance amending Chapter 27, specifically Section 27-176 "Parking Commercial Vehicles, Trailers, Truck Trailers and Truck Tractors in Residential Districts."

PURPOSE:
To replace Ordinance O25-028 with the language intended to be stricken appropriately stricken from the exhibit, as originally intended, and to correct a minor scrivener's error to allow the City Clerk to update the Code of Ordinances. For reference, please refer to Exhibit A-Chapter 27-176 CORRECTED (attached):

1. Line 5 - "exceeding" is changed to "exceeds"
2. Lines 6-10 - strikethrough of language that was replaced.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff respectfully requests approval of this item.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and

WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and

WHEREAS, amendments to Chapter 27, Section 27-176 "Parking Commercial Vehicles, Trailers, Truck Trailers and Truck Tractors in Residential Districts were adopted on April 22, 2025, as Ordinance O25-028; and

WHEREAS, the amendments adopted in the ordinance did not contain all strikethroughs of the prior language required to achieve the articulated intent of the proposed changes; and
