A Parking Study for Evans Avenue and Hamilton Street intersection. Ward 4, Alderman Donnell.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Evans Avenue and Hamilton Street intersection to study the need for parking restrictions at the Evans Avenue and Hamilton Street intersection.
BACKGROUND:
An E-mail was submitted requesting No Parking Here to Corner signage and Yellow Curb markings for the intersection of Evans Avenue and Hamilton Street.
DISCUSSION:
Evans Avenue is a standard width roadway (29.5-ft), while Hamilton Street is a No Outlet roadway to the north (15 to 20-ft wide) and south (29.5-ft). No approach has any parking restrictions. Speed limit is the standard neighborhood residential 25 mph. All approaches have curb, gutter, and sidewalks, with the exception of the northern Hamilton Avenue.
Installing No Parking Here to Corner signage would assist drivers on all approaches, especially those drivers approaching Evans Avenue on the narrower northern Hamilton Avenue.
No yellow curbing is recommended based on redundancy.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing the No Parking Here to Corner signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing No Parking Here to Corner signage.
