Family Focus Aurora is requesting permission to stage Roots Aurora on LaSalle Street between Benton and Downer on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this event is to promote multicultural inclusiveness and raise funds for various community organizations.
BACKGROUND:
This is the third year for this event which was previously held at RiverEdge Park. Moving the festival will give it a more urban, block party feel.
DISCUSSION:
Expected attendance is approximately 2,000 during the course of the event. A Music Festival Permit is being applied for and insurance is pending.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Organizers are contacting APD and AFD directly for event coverage.
Requesting the Street Department drop off 4 Class III barricades, two at Benton and LaSalle and two at Downer and LaSalle on Friday, September 25 and pick on Monday, September 28.
Requesting access to electrical service if available.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
