Request to approve the 2020 Fence Improvement Program and continue to provide assistance to the Ward 2 residents that apply and meet the revised guidelines.
PURPOSE:
Alderman Juany Garza and the 2nd Ward Committee desire to continue the Ward 2 Fencing Improvement Program and provide assistance to the Ward 2 residents who apply and meet the guidelines.
BACKGROUND:
For many years, Alderman Juany Garza and her 2nd Ward Committee have continued the Fence Improvement Program. Each year, residents in the Ward 2 gateway located along East New York Street or Galena Boulevard between Smith and Root Street submit application for consideration based on the program guidelines. Alderman Juany Garza along with the Ward 2 Committee are requesting the program be continued in 2020 with the 2018 revised guidelines.
DISCUSSION:
The vendor will be paid from the Ward 2 Special Programs Account 312-1350-419.50-99. $25,000.00 has been allocated for this program and the program will not be extended past the current Alderman's term.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This program will improve the appearance of the Ward 2 gateway located along East New York Street or Galena Boulevard between Smith and Root Street.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approve the Ward 2 Fence Improvement Program with the revised 2018 guidelines.
