SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for Meadowsedge Lane. Ward 5, Alderman Franco.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Meadowsedge Lane, including and between the intersections of Meadowsedge Lane and Sumac Drive, Meadowsedge Lane and Prairie Street.
BACKGROUND:
Resident emailed complaint regarding vehicles parking and causing congestion in and near the intersections of Meadowsedge Lane and Sumac Drive, Meadowsedge Lane and Prairie Street.
DISCUSSION:
Meadowsedge Lane is classified as a residential roadway, 38 feet in width near Prairie Street but tapering to 28 feet in width near Sumac Drive, and a 25 mph speed limit. Vehicles were observed parking near the subject intersections, restricting the width of travel and motorist sight distance near the Meadowedge Lane and Sumac Drive intersection.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department and APD resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of NO PARKING SIGNAGE at and near the intersection of Meadowsedge Lane and Sumac Drive. Recommend installation of NO PARKING between the driveways for 540 and 552 Meadowsedge Lane, on the east side of the intersection. Then using NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage on the northwest and southwest corners of the Meadowsedge Lane and Sumac Drive intersection, extending approximately 30 feet from the intersection. Recommending random, selective enforcement by APD of newly installed NO PARKING signage.
