PURPOSE:
To study the impact of a NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage on Simms Street approaching Bangs Street.
BACKGROUND:
Alderman Mesiacos submitted ACR Case ID 101928 requesting NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage be installed on Simms Street approaching Bangs Street.
DISCUSSION:
To the west of Bangs Street, Simms Street has no curb and gutter. To the east of Bangs Street, Simms Street has curb and gutter. There was no apparent line of site issue with the intersection, the streets intersect at 90-degrees with no significant blocking vegetation. Bangs Street has curb and gutter to the north and south of Simms Street. There is NO PARKING THIS SIDE all along the north side of Simms Street. Bangs Street to the north of Simms Street has NO PARKING THIS SIDE on the east side, while Bangs Street to the south of Simms Street has NO PARKING THIS SIDE on the west side.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be responsible for installing NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage on Simms Street on the west side of Bangs Street approaching Bangs Street from the west.
