A resolution authorizing the Director of Purchasing to execute a contract with Rush Power Systems for preventative maintenance of standby natural gas generators at the City of Aurora lift stations for the Water and Sewer Maintenance Division.
PURPOSE:
To execute a contract with Rush Power Systems to perform on going preventative maintenance on the City's standby generators located at sewer lift stations that are owned by the City of Aurora as well as one standby generator located at the Water and Sewer Maintenance Facility
BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora owns and maintains four sanitary sewage lift stations and three storm water lift stations. All seven lift stations rely on electrical power for operation. The City of Aurora's Purchasing Division publically bid the above reference contract via bid no. 16-37. On July 20th, 2016 the City received and opened three responsive bids for the work. Rush Power Systems from Belvidere, IL was the low, responsive bidder.

The subject contract is for 12 months with two additional 12 month extensions, subject to mutual consent between the City of Aurora and Rush Power Systems. The total cost for each 12 month contract is $26,205.00. Funding for this work is provided in the 2016 budget in Account no. 510-4063-511-38-67 (Water and Sewer Fund).
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The work to be performed under this contract is essential in order to minimize the possibility of a catastrophic failure at one of its lift stations. .
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request that the proposed resolution be adopted.
